1920 - Emir Shakib Arslan addressing group of unidentified officers - No date, no place, no occasion identified Emir Shakib Arslan (Abou Ghaleb), Lebanese Druze notable, senior Ottoman official, pan Arab and Islamic nationalist especially between the two World Wars. He lived in Geneva, Switzerland as a political refugee after having been banished from Lebanon by the mandatory power France. He and the Syrian nationalist Ehsan Al-Jabri founded “La Nation Arabe” journal in Geneva. He is seen in this picture, possibly taken in the 1920s, addressing a group of unidentified officers.
